Usually a MBA will have more value if you pursue it after a few years of work experience. If you wish to study for MBA, however, from a top university like the Stanford, immediately after your B. Tech., it would be worth it because of the reputation and career prospects.

Be aware, however, admission and financial aid in top institutions is very competitive. You may want to send e-mail to Stanford Graduate School of Business at www.gsb.stanford.edu/ and inquire about admission criterion and scholarship opportunities.

The scholarship award committee in U.S. universities usually consider, among others, the following to award scholarship:

1. Undergraduate performance

2. GRE / GMAT scores

3. Recommendation letters

4. Work experience (if any)

5. Project work

6. Statement of purpose / personal essay

7. Volunteer work experience (if any)

8. Other academic and or extra-curricular achievements
